Creative hands will be displaying their expertise at the "Working Fingers" Craft Show Nov. 1 and 2 at the Mooresville Recreation Department's War Memorial Building.
"This will be our 32 year and we've looked for crafters all over North Carolina," said Ti Farmer, center supervisor for the War Memorial.
"They bring different types of skills that you may not see around here and it's a nice atmosphere.
Between the delicious food and the crafts, it's a nice place to get started with the holiday shopping."
Farmer said about 75 booths will be set up at the show, with jewelry, baked goods, ceramics and floral arrangements all on exhibit. Homemade baked goods, such as cakes and candies, are usually he most popular items, but this year they're adding fresh things to the mix.
"We have a few new booths, like one man who does leatherwork, including belts and vests," Farmer said. "He also recreates clothing from the 1800s, which I think is a neat thing."
Another vendor creates teddy bears from mohair and fabric.
"She can make a personal one for you, using something like a baby blanket for a keepsake," Farmer said.
Christmas décor will be available as well, with ornaments and trees adding to the Christmas shopping spirit.
"We've had as many as 2,000 people show up, depending on the weather," she said. "I think the show has remained popular because it has items you can't just go anywhere to get."
The "Working Fingers" Craft show will be held on Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 2. For questions about the show, contact Ti Farmer at (704) 663-7026.
