...And miles to go before they finish. The first of three stages of the road running Miles of Mooresville will be held today, starting at 7 p.m.
Tonight's action features a three-stage evening series of road races helping comprise the Miles of Mooresville presented by local-based Queen City Timing and benefitting the Race City Runners Foundation.
Miles of Mooresville is a new event series that consists of a trio of evening races with options for those participating of competing in one-mile, two-mile and/or three-mile events. Additional dates of the series will be held in July and August.
The course for all the races will be a one-mile loop in downtown Mooresville. One lap will constitute one mile, two laps will cover two miles, and three laps will comprise all three miles.
There will be a break in between each of the races so that those interested can participate in more than one.
Cost of participating is $18 per runner per night. Included in the fee will be the option of running in as many as the three events as well as a T-shirt and all the festivities surrounding the affair.
Entertainment as well as food and beverages will all be available.
Proceeds realized from the Miles of Mooresville will go to benefit Race City Runners, a non-profit organization.
Other dates of the races will be July 17 and Aug. 21.
