A championship rodeo belt buckle was stolen from a Mooresville-area home in September and authorities are seeking information about its whereabouts.
The buckle, along with several other items, was stolen on Sept. 13 from the Johnson Dairy Road home of champion bull rider, J.B. Mauney, said Detective Sgt. J.T. Smith of the Iredell County Sheriff's Office.
The theft occurred during a break-in at Mauney's home, Smith said.
Some of the stolen property has been recovered, and arrests for possession of stolen property were made. However, interviews with those arrested have failed to turn up the buckle, Smith said.
Smith said it is believed the buckle is still in the hands of someone on a local level.
The buckle, the equivalent of a Super Bowl ring in football, reads 2007 Challenge Tour Championship and has Mauney's name on it.
Anyone with information can call Smith at (704) 660-9586.
