The Iredell County Partnership for Young Children, located at 132 E. Broad St. in Statesville, will hold a Family Read kick-off event on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The event, which is inspired by The Big Read program currently underway in Iredell County, is an effort to encourage families to read together. The book they have selected is "I Love You" by Jean Marzollo. Families will receive a free copy of the book in the literacy packets being handed out during the event.
The morning will also offer activities for children and parents, a free activities packet with book, puppets, file folder game, refreshments and much more.
