Kendrick Johnson and Isaiah Johnson turned in record-setting performances and Cody Locklear won two individual events as the Mooresville High boys were victorious in the Iredell County Track Championships for the sixth straight season Monday.
Shawn Lester slowly took ownership of Mooresville’s basketball team. Head coach Michael Micklow said he went to the school in 2008 as a hard-nosed freshman taught to score from his days in middle school. Two years later he is still the Blue Devils’ best scorer, but he tied for first with Dre Howell in steals (three per game), was second in assists (six), third in rebounding (five), and blocked 20 shots this season.
With a bright smile and a bubbly personality, Bri Johnson is sociable. The North Iredell junior tends to harness her chattiness on the basketball court, though.
Harrison Honeycutt’s consecutive wins streak ended this season, but his most important streak continued.
Logan Heck’s biggest opponent is a clock that keeps on ticking. Heck, a star swimmer at Lake Norman, doesn’t gauge his success as much on what place he finishes in a race, but on how fast he goes, how quickly he can make that clock stop.

Lake Norman is in. Mooresville is out. The Wildcats’ 52-45 win Friday over the Blue Devils secured fourth place in the I-Meck 4A standings a berth in the 2011 4A West playoffs.
Mooresville has a pair of big games this week coming down the stretch of the regular season.

Supremacy is on the line tonight in Mooresville. The Lake Norman Wildcats travel across Interstate 77 for the annual match against crosstown rival Mooresville.

The Lake Norman Wildcats and Hough Huskies both finished 1-2 in the boys and girls conference swim meet at Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatic. The Huskies took the boys title, and the Wildcats won the girls championship.
Idle for nearly two weeks due to weather and end-of-semester testing, Lake Norman High’s basketball teams get back into action in a hurry this week.
