Public art celebration coming to Davidson Village Green

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The Davidson Village Green will be buzzing with artistic creativity this weekend when Downtown Davidson Inc. partners fourteen local businesses with artist coaches to create functional works of art.

On April 4, starting at 10 a.m., park benches will be transformed into masterpieces by their sponsors with the help of Creative Art Exchange artists.

The Delilahs, Davidson College's all female a Capella group, will entertain the crowd along with one of Davidson's most promising jugglers, 12-year-old Austin Bruckner.

Once finished, these benches will be placed throughout Davidson as a visual reminder of the month long celebration, April is for Arts in North Mecklenburg.

This project was made possible, in part, through a Cultural Project Grant from the Arts & Science Council and the Grassroots Program of the North Carolina Arts Council (a state agency).
