Throughout the 2009-10 school year, the Mooresville Graded School District plans to change school transportation routes by consolidating stops in subdivisions, following state-recommended stop-to-stop distances and closer verification of route times.
Student bus passes with route information will be available during the open houses of each school this week.
District officials said they hope these changes, which will take place over the course of the school year, will "improve transportation efficiency without compromising student safety" by more closely adhering to North Carolina bus regulations.
