Mooresville Concerts presents Davidson Express on Sunday, February 15 at 3:00 p.m. at the Charles Mack Citizen Center. Davidson Express is a Charlotte-based five-piece acoustic combo performing a blend of traditional bluegrass standards and fresh original compositions of local Charlotte flavor. Their show is sure to delight a wide variety of listeners with fine instrumental picking, multi-part harmonies, and catchy new melodies crafted with witty, insightful lyrics. You will hear a combination of original pieces, as well as well known selections. They serve their bluegrass with a New South twist! The musicians are a varied group: a software engineer, a middle school teacher, a food distributor, a bank vice president, and a college professor, brought together by preschools, jam sessions, and their common love of acoustic music. Playing together since 2006, Sherman Campbell (fiddle), David Conner (banjo), Tony Hoover (mandolin), Cameron Swallow (guitar), and John Wertheimer (bass) have performed in various venues such as Davidson's Concerts on the Green, the Mooresville Concert Series, Summit Coffee, church events, weddings, receptions, and other private gatherings.
A "Meet The Artists" reception will follow the concert. Admission is $10, $5 for children under 10; tickets can be purchased at the Mack Center or at the Mooresville Recreation Department office, or by calling (704) 662-3334. Advanced purchase of tickets is highly recommended.
