Interested in becoming a foster parent? Barium Springs Home for Children will host an Open House on Thursday, Jan. 15 at Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church in Mooresville.
Interested parties are encouraged to drop by anytime between 6 pm - 8 pm to ask questions and get more information about the Foster Care program at Barium Springs Home for Children.
There is a growing need for foster families, with a shortage of foster homes in our state. In North Carolina, there are approximately 11,000 children in foster care. Those interested in becoming foster parents will be provided 40 hours of training and will be well-prepared and supported by our highly trained staff at Barium Springs.
For more information, please call Turkessia Evans or Marc Murphy at 704-873-1011 or at 1-800-320-4157.
Foster care is temporary care in a family home environment for children ages birth to 21. These children must leave their own families for a few weeks, a few months, or even a year because of abuse, neglect, parent incapacitation, or the youth's own unmanageable behavior.
