The face of West Iredell softball over the last four years, pitching standout Hannah Pennell has committed to play for Greensboro College.
"The coach was a big factor, and the way the players talked about the program was important," Pennell said. "And it's a small school, there are nice people there."
Pennell was sensational on the mound during her senior year for the Warriors.
She struck out 210 batters on the year while boasting a miniscule ERA of 0.98.
She was the R&L player of the year in 2008 and a mainstay on the R&L all-county teams and North Piedmont 3A all-conference teams.
"I'm looking forward to getting to know all the new players and playing with a bunch of different girls," Pennell said.
