Looking at the big picture

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Jordan Sledge was invaluable as Mooresville's No. 2 runner this season, and Alex Brito has had his share of big moments during his Blue Devils tenure.

That's why cross country coach Michael Royal hopes the duo remembers the big picture of what Mooresville accomplished, rather than their last races.

With Sledge fighting an illness and Brito not completely healthy, both finished outside the top-100 in the 130-member race.

"I hope they don't look back on the senior year and look at just (Saturday's) race, because I think they will be disappointed," Royal said. "If they look back over what we've done in their four years, they'll be proud of what they accomplished."
