Five people were arrested on charges stemming from the theft of a cargo trailer.

Curtis Dagenhart, 37, of Troutman, Christopher Dagenhart, 38, of Statesville, Desmond Allison, 26, of Statesville, Brandon Campbell, 24, of Statesville and Jerry Paul Manuel, 23, of Statesville, face charges in the case.

Iredell Sheriff Phil Redmond said a Carry-On cargo trailer was stolen from a residence on Ashbrook Lane on Oct. 19. A go-cart, tool box with tools, air compressor and vehicle ramps inside the trailer were also taken, he said.

Detective Sgt. B.M. Boyd began an investigation, and found that the trailer was taken to a home on Bristol Road, Redmond said. It was broken into and unloaded and the items were taken to various places and sold, Redmond said.

Curtis and Christopher Dagenhart and Allison were charged with felony larceny, breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering. Manuel was charged with felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor larceny and Campbell was charged with breaking and entering, misdemeanor larceny and three counts of accessory after the fact.
