Lions girls basketball an easy winner

Statesville Christian opened up a 31-9 halftime lead in Tuesday's opener and cruised to a 52-16 win over Carter G. Woodson.

Eight players scored for the Lions (1-0), who were led by Katie Lamm.

Lamm finished with 12 points, and Katie Godsell added 11 points.

Others with notable contributions were Jenna Stout (eight rebounds), Abby Baity (eight assists) and Ali Burgiss (six steals).
