Girls basketball team in rebuilding mode

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Based on losses to graduation, players transferring to Statesville and players opting not to return, instead choosing to play Junior Olympic volleyball, West Iredell girls basketball coach Phil Fox dubbed this a rebuilding year for his team.

"We're back to square one really," he said. "We're pretty young … but I think we'll play hard."

The Warriors, led by guards Alisha Tuttle and Tess Sigmon, host their first scrimmage at 11 a.m. Saturday against North Wilkes in the new gym. Admission is $3 or $2 with a canned food item.
