Man killed by falling tree limb

An elderly man was killed Wednesday afternoon when he was struck by a falling tree branch.

The man, whose identity was unavailable late Wednesday, was getting out of his car on Oakwood Street in Mooresville when the accident occurred. The top of a pine tree fell onto the man's car, Mooresville Fire Department Battalion Chief Jamie Barrier said.

No other information on the accident was immediately available.
