Two Catawba County women were apprehended in connection with an attempt to pass a fraudulent prescription.

Amber Leann White, 23, and Katherine A. White, 38, both of Newton, were arrested on Friday.

Iredell County Sheriff Phil Redmond said Deputy Nathan Rash received information that two women were going to be in the area attempting to pass a fraudulent prescription for hydrocodone.

Efforts to capture the two were coordinated, and deputies learned the women would be at the Medicap Pharmacy on Stutts Road, Mooresville, Redmond said. Detective Sgt. J.T. Smith made employees aware of the pending arrival of the women, and Smith waited inside as well, Redmond said.

Both of the women were apprehended without incident.

Both were charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver Schedule II, obtaining property by false pretense and conspiracy.
