First-year Mooresville High School football coach Steve McCurry, whose team suffered through an 0-11 record this season, resigned Thursday afternoon.

Principal Todd Wirt announced McCurry's resignation in a press release, in which he said McCurry is leaving for "personal reasons." Added Wirt, "Mooresville High School would like to thank Mr. McCurry for his service over the last year and wish him luck with future endeavors."

Wirt said a search for McCurry's replacement will begin immediately.
