Nothing but the best.
That's been the case so far this very early high school swimming season for both the girls and boys teams at Lake Norman High School.
Engaging in both a two-team meet as well as a multi-team tournament affair, the Lady Wildcats and reigning state 3A class champion Wildcats have each swam their way to the head of their respective classes in readying for a single outing on tap to close out their schedule for the month of November.
In a season-opening affair against fellow current 4A class I-Meck Conference member Mallard Creek, Lake Norman's teams chalked up the highest number of points each to emerge as meet medalists.
Then, in a four-team affair in the form of the Black & Gold Invitational hosted by Pfeiffer University, both LNHS teams also paddled their way to the top of the list.
Each of the two meets also came complete with the setting of more program records.
In the opening affair, the Wildcats' Logan Heck, a sophomore, established a new mark to beat in the 50-meter freestyle event on his way towards winning that races' top spot.
And in the Black & Gold Invitational at Pheiffer, it was Morgan Holbrook a freshman, hitting a new high water mark during her top showing in the meet's 500-meter freestyle event.
