Kids get a new playground

Shepherd Elementary will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil its new playground.

The ribbon cutting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. at the school at 1748 Charlotte Highway in Mooresville.

The school was awarded a $16,000 grant from the Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation. The grant was matched by Iredell-Statesville Schools.

The funding provided new playground equipment and landscaping for the students.
