Leaptrott keeps South soccer rolling

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Vikings senior Zach Leaptrott is saving his best play for late in the season.

Leaptrott recorded a hat trick Monday for the third consecutive game as South Iredell crushed East Burke 7-1.

South, on quite a tear lately, is 10-2-1 in CVAC play with one to go.

Winners of eight consecutive games, the Vikings got some major help in the standings, courtesy of Newton-Conover.

The Red Devils beat West Caldwell 5-4 in overtime Monday to put South Iredell alone in second place.

If the Vikings finish second, they will host a first-round playoff game, likely against either South Stokes (9-6-2) or West Stokes (5-8-3).
