Lake Norman's run in the 4A state playoffs ended Tuesday.

The Wildcats ran into a familiar foe in Hopewell and lost 3-1 (25-12, 22-25, 25-7, 25-18).

Hopewell was the No. 2 seed from the I-Meck Conference.

Lake Norman, the No. 4 seed, upset East Gaston 3-0 in the first round.

Against Hopewell, Morgan Tucker finished with 10 kills, seven digs and two blocks to pace Lake Norman (17-10).

Lauren Steiner added eight kills and five blocks, Fallon Davis finished with 21 assists and eight digs and Jensen Schott had 15 digs.

"I think we faced a lot of adversity to end the year," Wildcats coach Karen Poulin said. "We've been sick as dogs for three weeks with bronchitis, mono, the flu. It's just crazy. I'm very impressed with my team."
