Troutman Middle jumped out to a 12-0 lead in Wednesday's game against East Middle and held on for a 12-8 win in the second game of the Iredell-Statesville Schools annual championship.

Briggs Lunsford connected with Luke Lively for a 10-yard score to put Troutman up 6-0 in the second quarter. The Bobcats (4-3) then made it 12-0 when Zach Hubbard ran it in from 2 yards out for a double-digit halftime lead.

Deandre Rankin broke off a 66-yard run for East (4-3) in the third quarter, and Dewayne Jones added a two-point conversion run. The Knights came no closer though, and the Bobcats earned the tough win.
