Described as "an innovative homecoming partnership program with area high schools," Andrea Cleveland, a communications specialist for the Speedway, issued a press release Tuesday morning noting the partnership that will take place surrounding the Oct. 17 running of the NASCAR Banking 500 from fellow partner Bank of America.

Limited information was released prior to the official announcement – scheduled for 4 p.m. today at Lowe's Motor Speedway – but the media release did note that the "program will include details on fund-raising opportunities and pre-race show participation for public high schools in four Charlotte-area counties," including Iredell County.

Both MHS principal Todd Wirt is expected to attend today's announcement as well as Iredell-Statesville Schools Interim Supt. Brady Johnson.
