Shaq Diesel will be burning racing fuel Wednesday at Concord Speedway.
Fans are invited to watch Dale Earnhardt Jr., arguably NASCAR's most popular driver, battle Cleveland Cavaliers center Shaquille O'Neal on the track during taping of ABC's hit show "Shaq Vs."
A four-time NBA champion, O'Neal will swap his size-23 basketball shoes for racing Velcro and trade his basketball jersey for a fire-retardant driver's suit before squeezing his 7-foot-1, 325-pound frame into a stock car.
Gates open at 3 p.m. The race starts at 5 p.m.
"Shaq Vs." will premiere its second season Aug. 3 on ABC. The show stars O'Neal as he takes on top athletes in their respective fields.
In season one, O'Neal faced off against Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh in beach volleyball, the St. Louis Cardinals' Albert Pujols in baseball, Oscar de la Hoya in boxing and Michael Phelps in swimming.
Each episode in season two will not rely solely on sporting matches but will also feature some fun, comedic non-sports competitions.
By attending Wednesday's event, fans agree to have their likeness shown on television. No cameras, phones (of any kind) or outside recording devices will be allowed inside the venue.
