Salisbury swept doubles play Wednesday to break a tie with Lake Norman and pull out a 6-3 victory in a match-up of two area powers.
The teams of Steven Page and Lewis Young and Alex Weant and Wes McNeely both won 9-7 in doubles play to make the difference.
Lake Norman, the defending 3A state champion, won three singles matches.
Matt Crisp (6-1, 6-1) and Sharavan Rajan (6-4, 6-3) both won in straight sets. On the No. 5 court, Hamit Coody won 6-1, 0-6, 10-8.
