Greyhounds soccer opens with win over South

SarahAnn Waugh and Storm Mayberry both scored two goals for Statesville in Thursday's 6-0 soccer win over South Iredell.

Paola Cardona and Katie Register both scored as well for the Greyhounds, who were playing their first game of the season.

Waugh, Mayberry and Abby Register all finished with assists.

Natalie Stein, Emily Kessler and Melody Graves combined for the shutout.

The Vikings got a good game from keeper Elexus Burby.
