»  Comments | Post a Comment

It's a new era at West Iredell, and it's off to a pretty good start.

With a new pitcher for the first time in four years, the Warriors got several strong performances at the plate to defeat South Iredell 9-6.

Freshman Paige Frye pitched a complete game for West (1-0). She gave up seven hits while striking out three.

Miranda Cummings also started the season with a bang. She went 4-for-4, including a home run, and drove in two runs.

Jennifer Moose added three hits and three RBIs while Frye had two hits and Emily Lucas smacked a tri-ple.

The Warriors play at Lake Norman (2-0) on Monday.
