Zevan brings fresh start to Devils softball

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Lisa Zevan is the new softball coach at Mooresville.

So far, she likes what she has seen on the field.

Despite being a bit behind due to inclement weather, the Blue Devils looked improved during preseason scrimmages against South Iredell, Lake Norman and Myers Park.

The balanced Blue Devils return five starters from last year's team.

The most notable returnee is Hope Smith. Playing catcher last year, Smith batted .375 and had an on-base percentage of .483.

She was one of two county players to make the 2009 State Games.
