Wildcats softball beats North Meck 1-0

Lake Norman may have taken the inside track to the I-Meck 4A conference championship Friday.

The Wildcats beat North Meck 1-0 in a battle between the two preseason favorites.

Stacey Houser went 3-for-3 to account for half of Lake Norman's hits. Kayla Pine, Dominique Wilson and Mariah McGuffey also contributed hits, and Wilson drove in Lake Norman's run.

Pine improved to 3-0 on the mound with another sharp performance. She struck out six batters while allowing three hits in seven innings.
