Students from the Hung Gar Kung Fu Academy in Mooresville preform their traditional lion dance for businesses and schools in the area as part of Chinese New Year celebrations. January 23rd began the "Year of the Dragon" on the chinese calendar and the celebration continues until February 6th. Dragon years are considered one of the luckiest years in the Chinese calendar. During that time, the students will preform the dance at least 12 different times as part of traditional celebrations and festivals surrounding the start of a new year.
